A high-level Ukrainian delegation, which includes a senior adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky, is visiting Israel, according to Ambassador Yevgen Korniychuk.

Separately, Israel’s Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz is set to visit Ukraine this week, Korniychuk told reporters at his embassy’s offices in Tel Aviv.

Israel has been one of the countries attempting to help mediate a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, and has been mentioned as a possible guarantor for such an agreement.

Israel has dispatched a field hospital to the besieged country, called Shining Star in English, located in Mostyska in the Lviv Oblast province, in western Ukraine, and spared the brunt of the war.

Korniychuk said that Horowitz will be coming to Ukraine to meet his colleague Viktor Liashkoand and to visit the field hospital, emphasizing that “the level of support of the Israeli people is wonderful. We are happy to say that yesterday, through private sponsorship, we have sent another 50 tons of humanitarian aid.”

The assistance is very much needed, he said, especially the pharmaceutical supplies, adding that many more supplies are waiting to be sent.
