A drone targeted the Martyr Mohammad Alaa Air Base which hosts US forces near the Baghdad International Airport early Tuesday morning, according to Iraqi Security Media Cell. The drone was intercepted by air defenses.

No injuries were reported.
A defense official told BBC reporter Nafiseh Kohnavard that the armed drone flew over the airport "putting innocent Iraqi lives at risk and [it] could [have] hit commercial flights."
