IDF Lt.-Col. (res.) Sharon Nir has joined Finance Minister Avigdor Liberman's Yisrael Beytenu party ahead of the upcoming election to the Knesset, the faction announced on Sunday.
Nir, a former commander of Bahad 7, the IDF's communication and cyber training base, last served as the chief of staff's adviser on gender equality and left the Israeli military in 2020.
Her contributions to Israeli society "will continue in the Knesset following 30 years of service in the IDF," Liberman said.
