Israel elections: Extremist right-wing Noam party to run independently

Religious extremist right-wing Knesset faction Noam will run independently for the upcoming Knesset election, faction head MK Avi Maoz announced Sunday evening.

Maoz, whose party last year ran in a joint list with MKs Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir's Religious Zionists and Otzma Yehudit factions, was squeezed out of the merger agreement for the November election.

"It is incomprehensible that the Jewish identity is pushed down to a marginal, unrealistic spot," Maoz said in a jab aimed at Smotrich and Ben Gvir. "Noam must have a seat in the next Knesset."
