An Israel Police patrol officer was arrested earlier this week for alleged serious sexual assault offenses committed on a minor during her arrest, the Police Investigation Department said on Thursday.
The officer is under interrogation for committing acts of sodomy and attempted rape, according to police, which added that the suspect's arrest will be extended for a second time later on Thursday.
A gag order was placed on any piece of information that could lead to the identification of the victim.
