Yonatan Yosef, a member of the Jerusalem City Council and the grandson of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, was arrested on Friday after taking part in a demonstration in Jerusalem's Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, according to Walla!
He was arrested on suspicion of causing damage, after he was recorded on security cameras on Thursday allegedly pouring a liquid substance near the house of an Arab family, and was then recorded leaving the scene.
Yosef was part of a group supporting the evacuation of some local Arab families from their home, against which a weekly demonstration is held in the neighborhood.
