Russian nuclear submarines deployed in Pacific for exercise

Strategic and multi-purpose nuclear submarines were deployed in the Pacific ocean from Kamchatka in an exercise on Tuesday as part of a several-day surprise inspection of the Russian Pacific Fleet.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday that 12 submarines had been inspected as part of the review.

The surprise inspection is set to end on Tuesday.
