Egged announced an impromptu drivers' strike on Sunday morning as a result of violent behavior faced by drivers, according to Israeli media.
"This is wild and irresponsible behavior on the part of the Worker's Union and the Egged Workers' Committee who chose without warning to harm thousands of Egged passengers on the busiest morning of the week with no sensible reason," said the company in a statement. "We are working on every level to stop the unbearable damage to the passengers of Egged."
