Potential joint allied training programs for Ukrainian pilots on F-16s was a message to Russia that it should not expect to succeed in its invasion of Ukraine even if it counts on a prolonged conflict, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Sunday.
Ukraine has not yet won commitments for delivery of the planes, but senior US officials said US President Joe Biden told G7 leaders on Friday that Washington supports joint allied training programs for Ukrainian pilots on F-16s.
