Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said on Monday his government does not want to take sides in the conflict playing out between Israel and Gaza since violence flared up there at the weekend following deadly attacks by Hamas militants.
Speaking at a regular press conference, Lopez Obrador said his government was in favor of peace, and urged the United Nations to call an assembly of its members to seek a resolution to the conflict.
