Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has invited National Unity head MK Benny Gantz for talks on Tuesday evening on the immediate formation of an emergency unity government, the Likud said.
The Knesset's ruling party added that "significant steps" have been taken in negotiations.
Netanyahu and Gantz are set to meet at 9:30 p.m. local time at Israel's military headquarters the Kirya, in Tel Aviv.
