US orders 2,000 military personnel, units to 'prepare to deploy' in Israel

Some 2,000 American military personnel and units were placed "on a heightened state of readiness" through US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin's order to prepare to deploy in Israel.

The Defense Department noted that no decision has been made to deploy any forces at this time.
