A security prisoner, a 53-year-old resident of Jenin at the Nafcha Prison who was serving ten life sentences, was taken to the Shamir Medical Center on Tuesday, where he was pronounced dead, Hebrew media reported.
The prisoner, Khaled Gamal, was one of the senior members of the Fatah political movement. He was considered an associate of terrorist Marwan Barghouti and was arrested in 2007.
The circumstances of the death will be investigated.
