Hamas Health Ministry: First case of polio detected in the Gaza Strip

The Gaza Hamas-run Health Ministry claimed to have identified the first case of polio in the Gaza Strip on Friday.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres proposed a humanitarian ceasefire in favor of a week-long vaccination campaign for the alleged cases of polio, which Hamas has voiced its support for.

Hamas Political Bureau member Izzat al-Rishq announced Hamas's support for the United Nations' request in order to implement a vaccination campaign for thousands of children against polio.
