National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, while attending a cabinet meeting, demanded the dismissal of Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) chief Ronen Bar, Israeli media reported on Thursday.

Ben-Gvir's attacks came following a letter that Bar sent to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warning him about the state of Jewish terrorism in the West Bank and blaming Ben-Gvir for encouraging such instances.

Following the demand, Ben-Gvir abruptly left the meeting.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other government ministers reportedly defended Bar, while Ben-Gvir claimed that Bar was responsible for security failures on Oct. 7 and attacked Bar's letter regarding Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount.
