An unnamed Hamas official told the BBC on Friday that the terror group is expected to reject the latest hostage deal-ceasefire proposal by US Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff.
Israel has stated that it accepts the deal, and both Israel and the US are waiting for a positive response from Hamas to move forward.
The proposal includes the release of 10 living hostages and 18 dead hostages in return for a 60-day ceasefire, a partial IDF withdrawal further into the Gaza Strip, and humanitarian aid distribution to be under the responsibility of the UN.
