Ashkenazi: 'Mullen helping Israel confront security threats'

During a formal dinner held in honor of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Michael Mullen Sunday evening, IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi  praised the state of relations between the nations and armies of Israel and the United States, saying that these relations should be developed further.
“There has been much information, knowledge, experience, and lessons shared between the two armies which will help us confront our challenges,” said Ashkenazi. Turning to Mullen, the IDF chief added that “we especially appreciate you visiting Israel, notwithstanding the military operation currently being conducted in Afghanistan, and we wish US military forces success in their mission.”
