A group of astronauts will take part in a Jewish educational gathering set to take place in Be’er Sheva next week.
Cosmonaut Alexey Leonov, the first man to conduct a spacewalk; cosmonaut Mikhail Korniyenko and Jewish-American astronaut Garrett Reisman will speak at the event organized by Limmud FSU whicj is expected to draw 1,000 people.
“Each year we dedicate our event to a different theme,” Chaim Chesler, founder of Limmud FSU, said. “This year we’ve chosen ‘space, science and technology. On the one hand we’re focusing on space and on the other the Negev. As the Negev’s future is dependent on its development the connection with technology seems relevant.”
