Sites belonging to Iranian-backed militias in eastern Syria near the border with Iraq were attacked Sunday night, killing at least 21 people, according to Asharq Al-Awsat and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), both based in London.The attacks targeted sites in Al-Bukamal in eastern Syria near the Iraqi border in the Deir ez-Zor region. The targets reportedly belonged to multiple Iranian militias, including Iraqi Hezbollah. Israel has reportedly carried out similar strikes in that region in the past.Injuries and deaths were reported in the attacks, according to Al Arabiya.
