Australian soldier killed by blast in Afghanistan

DARWIN, Australia — An 23-year old Australian soldier has been killed by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan just before midnight Friday.
A second soldier was wounded and was in stable condition.
The soldier was the sixth Australian to die in Afghanistan in the past month.
Australia has some 1,500 troops in Afghanistan alongside NATO forces.
The death takes Australia's military death toll in Afghanistan to 17.
