Baby whose parents accused of shaking him pronounced dead

One of two twin babies whose parents are in custody for allegedly causing them serious internal injuries by shaking them, was pronounced dead at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer on Sunday. The boy had been pronounced brain dead on Thursday.

The parents were allowed to travel to the hospital to separate from the child, who will now undergo an autopsy.

The second of the twins, a girl, remained hospitalized at Sheba Medical Center in good condition.

Police are investigating the cause of the babies' injuries. The parents had their remands extended by four days on Thursday.
