Baghdad Operations Command: Al-Qaida Iraq is crumbling

The head spokesman for the Baghdad Operations Command said Saturday that al-Qaida in Iraq is suffering from an economic crisis and is close to falling apart, reported Al Hayat, the Arabic daily newspaper published in London.
According to the spokesman, Kasem Attah, al-Qaida Iraq has resorted to armed robberies to fund their activities because their funding from outside Iraq has been cut off.
Several al-Qaida Iraq leaders have been killed in the past few weeks by American and Iraqi security forces.
