Ban talks peace in phone conversations with PM and Abbas

In the past two days, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon had telephone conversations with both Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the Middle East peace process.
Ban strongly encouraged ongoing efforts toward renewing Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, according to a statement put out by his office.
He stressed the importance for the parties to create the conditions conducive to a resumption of meaningful negotiations.
