Bar-Lev urges Ya'alon to reconsider IDF withdrawal from border communities

Labor MK Omer Bar-Lev urged Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon on Friday to reconsider his decision to pull out IDF soldiers out of frontline communities near the Gaza border.
Bar-Lev cited the clashes between the IDF and Hamas on the Gaza border overnight, as well as other recent events on the Gaza frontier, as indication troops' presence in these communities is necessary.
"The residents of [the towns near the border] that carry on their shoulders, and those of their children's, the burden of security, deserve every form of protection and aid," Bar-Lev said.
"The defense minister's concrete and narrow view of the term 'security' that ignores the mental needs and the importance of the sense of security of residents is saddening, and worthy of reevaluation," he added.
