Barak: Ashkenazi profoundly influenced belief in the IDF

Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Sunday said goodbye to outgoing chief of General Staff Gabi Ashkenazi and welcomed his successor Benny Gantz in a ceremony at the Prime Minister's Office in which Gantz was given the rank of Lieutenant-General and officially given command of the IDF.
Barak said that Ashkenazi "influenced profoundly the IDF's belief in itself and the people's belief in the IDF."
"I thank Gabi Ashkenazi for 40 years of service and especially the last four years," said Barak.
