Barak calls on residents of South to follow safety orders

Defense Minister Ehud Barak visited the site of an Iron Dome battery in Beersheba on Thursday as rocket fire from the Gaza Strip battered communities in the South in the aftermath of the IDF's Wednesday launch of an operation to root out terror infrastructure in the coastal territory.
Barak praised the effectiveness of the Iron Dome in preventing rockets from harming citizens of the South, but cautioned that it does not provide "100 percent defense."
He called on residents of the South to enter bomb shelters when rocket warnings are sounded. "There are no perfect systems and the Iron Dome does not free citizens from the essential need to behave in a disciplined manner and follow all of the safety instructions," Barak stated.
Barak sent his condolences to the families of the three Israelis killed by a rocket attack in Kiryat Malachi on Thursday morning and stated that "we will do everything in our power to keep Kiryat Malachi and all of the other communities in the South protected."
