Barak, Fayyad discuss Gaza blockade, W. Bank cooperation

Defense Minister Ehud Barak met with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad Monday to discuss efforts to alleviate the blockade on the Gaza Strip.
During the meeting, which took place at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, Barak and Fayyad planned the transfer of humanitarian supplies to the blockaded Hamas-controlled territory. They further outlined modes of cooperation between PA security forces and the IDF in the West Bank.
The two officials agreed to retain open lines of communication between the Defense Ministry and the PA government.
