Barak: IDF will use full force to ensure soldiers' safety

During a visit to the IDF's Ephraim Brigade headquarters Tuesday, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said that the IDF will use every means at its disposal to ensure that no harms comes to its soldiers.

"There were very serious incidents here last week," he said, "wherein a small group of extremists tried to undermine the state's authority over its citizens. We will act in full force... to ensure that nobody lifts a hand against IDF soldiers, IDF officers, or Israel Police officers."

Barak, along with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and IDF Chief of Staff Lt.- Gen. Benny Gantz, took part in a candle-lighting ceremony on the first night of Hanukka at the base that was attacked last week by right-wing extremists.
