Israel is working to ensure the IDF has the freedom to operate, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Sunday in an interview with Army Radio as rockets from Gaza continued to batter the South."The primary fight is along the fence, where we're trying to ensure that Israel can operate as normal," Barak said."This is not North America or Western Europe. This is a neighborhood without mercy for the weak," the minister continued. "With open eyes, we must strike blows as necessary, and sometimes you get hit, because that's how it goes in a boxing ring. We are not expecting our neighbors will disappear from here and our neighbors will not transform into Holland or Belgium next week."
