Barak leaves for US, Colombia to meet with gov't officials

Defense Minister Ehud Barak left Sunday morning for the United States and Colombia for talks with government officials. During his stay in the US, Barak will meet with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and other Obama administration officials.
When in Bogota he will meet with Colombia@@@s president, defense minister, foreign minister and other ministry officials. Barak will return to Israel on Thursday.
Barak@@@s trip comes a day after world powers met with Iran for the first time in over a year for talks aimed at stopping Tehran@@@s pursuit of nuclear weapons.
Barak is expected to be briefed on the talks and to coordinated strategy ahead of the next round of negotiations scheduled for May.
