Barak, Panetta discuss Syria, Iran in Washington meeting

Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Wednesday met his US counterpart Leon Panetta at the Pentagon in Washington, where the two leaders discussed security cooperation between Israel and the US.
Barak and Panetta discussed a range of regional issues including the situations in Syria and Iran and the changes occurring in the Middle East.
The defense minister stated that "the meeting with secretary of defense, like our previous meetings, highlights the close security relationship between the US and Israel."
On Tuesday Barak met with US Vice President Joe Biden, National Security Advisor Tom Donilon and senior US intelligence officials.
