Barak pays final visits to IAF, Navy chiefs

Outgoing Defense Minister Ehud Barak paid his final visits to IAF chief Maj.-Gen. Amir Eshel and Navy chief Maj.-Gen. Ram Rothberg on Monday.
At the Hatzur air force base, Eshel told Barak, "At the end of your tenure, the IAF, the branch of deterrence, attack, and defense, is sharp and ready for a range of threats, challenges, and arenas."
He added that the IAF promoted its abilities to operate in short and distance ranges, and set up its aerial defense division to intercept rockets and missiles. Eshel thanked Barak for "the faith, the challenge, and the support."
Navy chief Maj.-Gen. Rothberg told Barak in Haifa that under his watch, "many unique operations occurred, which me and m fighters are proud to have taken part of in."
