Barak to CNN: World should support Egyptian army, not Brotherhood

Former defense minister Ehud Barak told CNN in a TV interview that the world should be siding against the Muslim Brotherhood, and support the Egyptian army.
“I think that the whole world should support [Abdul-Fattah el-] Sisi,” Barak told CNN.
Meanwhile, an anonymous Israeli official told the New York Times why Israel has been mum on Egypt's crisis.
“Anything we say will be held against us,” said the official, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of he the “volatility” of the diplomatic situation.
“If we condemn the violence we will be accused of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood,” he said, referring to rumors already circulating to that effect. “And if we say we don’t condemn it, then it looks like Israel is in cahoots with the Egyptian Army.”
The official also told the New York Times, “that does not mean that we don’t have our own opinion and interests.”
