Barak to Faris: I will not change IDF decision

Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Sunday that he would not interfere with the IDF's decision to dismiss Brig.-Gen. Imad Faris.
The defense minister personally informed the Druse officer of his decision.
Faris was the commander of Division 91 and one of the highest-ranking Druse officers in Israel. He was dismissed from active duty in late April by IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, after admitting to lying in a car accident report involving an army-issued vehicle and subsequently resigning.
