Barkat at JPost Conference: Jerusalem must never be divided

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat addressed the Jerusalem Post Annual Conference in New York on Sunday, speaking out against the division of the capital as part of a peace deal.
"The world has to take Jerusalem off the negotiating table forever," Barkat said.
The mayor argued that Israeli-Arabs were better off than many of the Arabs in surrounding Arab states.
"If you tell them we are going to carve their village out of Israel, they would kill to stay in Israel," Barkat claimed.
After touting economic advancements in the capital, including in east Jerusalem, Barkat said that soon "a vast majority" of the Arab population of Jerusalem would want to remain in an undivided Jerusalem that was part of the Jewish state.
