Barkat launches campaign slogan for Likud primaries

Former Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat launched his campaign slogan for the Likud's primaries, Nir Barkat - A force for the Likud, on Wednesday.

After completing his term as Jerusalem's mayor a month ago, Barkat emphasized to Likud officials his experience as a company commander in the paratrooper's unit, high-tech pioneer and in bringing positive changes to Jerusalem.

Barkat supported Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Likud in the last election campaigns and led thousands of new members into the movement.

After the announcement of his decision to run for Likud's primaries list, he received praises from Netanyahu who said that it was "an important addition to Likud."

"Our mission is to build a team that will connect new forces and a large public to the Likud movement," Barkat said. "Only a large Likud led by Netanyahu leading the national camp will ensure Israel's security and economic stability."
