Barkat to Mayor of Paris Hidalgo after terror attack: We understand your pain

Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat spoke with Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and expressed sympathy in the name of the residents in Jerusalem after the terrorist attack in Paris that killed twelve people.
"The residents of Jerusalem understand and share your pain. Strengthen the residents of your city, because the strength you show will defeat the terrorists," he said.
Hidalgo in response told Barkat that she was moved by the conversation.
"The support of the Mayor of Jerusalem is very important to us. I will pass on this important message and the support of the people of Jerusalem to the members of the city council and to the residents of Paris and of France," she said.
On Wednesday, hooded attackers stormed the Paris offices of Charlie Hebdo, a weekly magazine known for lampooning Islam and other religions, in the most deadly militant attack on French soil in decades.
