Police are investigating suspicions that a number of Bat Yam students were abused by a student in their first grade class, according to an Israel Radio report. In one of the instances, the 6- and 7-year-old children were reportedly undressed and touched in the elementary school's bathroom. According to Israel Radio, the abusive children were suspended, and sent to another school. One mother said that the school staff had requested that she not discuss the incident with other parents. The Bat Yam municipality was quoted as saying that the case was an exception, and does not indicate a norm. A statement added that professionals had dealt with the situation.
