A French helicopter has managed to land near the print factory in suburban Paris where the suspected gunmen who killed 12 people at the offices of a weekly satirical newspaper are currently holed up with a hostage, the BBC is reporting.
Television images from the scene show explosions and witnesses near the vicinity report hearing gunfire.
The latest developments appear to indicate that French authorities are raiding the building, although there has been no official confirmation.
