Bill Clinton: Mideast peace would undercut terror

CAIRO  — Former US president Bill Clinton on Tuesday said solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would take away much of the impetus for terrorism around the world.
He described the issue as the key problem in the region and said a Mideast peace deal could reshape the region in other ways, like getting Iran to reconsider its controversial nuclear program.
Clinton told an audience of Egyptian businessmen that the outlines of an Israeli-Palestinian agreement are well known and the US-mediated negotiations that got under way a month ago are aiming to achieve a deal similar to the one he tried to broker a decade ago.
