Bill Clinton says US must approach Iran carefully

Bill Clinton says US mus

Former US President Bill Clinton says Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is "lashing out at the world" right now and that it's important for US leaders to figure out why. Clinton suggested Tuesday that Ahmadinejad's actions, including the fact he again has denied the Holocaust, are because of the international criticism he got after violence-marred elections. Clinton said his actions call into question what the American strategy should be. Clinton also said he thinks Ahmadinejad "probably would be toast right now" if the ruling mullahs in the Islamic republic hadn't stood behind him in the disputed election. Appearing on NBC's "Today" show, he said "the question is whether this is a strategy in play and whether we can find some way" to engage the Iranian leader.
