Bill would allow IDF to punish ex-soldiers on You-Tube

The IDF would be able to prosecute ex-soldiers who harm the image of the army or the state by publishing pictures or videos from their service, according to a bill submitted this week by Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee head Tzahi Hanegbi.
The bill comes in the wake of several cases of soldiers who uploaded pictures of themselves with blindfolded security prisoners onto Facebook and other social networking sites.
The current law only enables the IDF to prosecute ex-soldiers up to 180 days past the end of their service. The new bill would expand the deadline to five years.
