Bnei Akiva youth pledge to help rejuvenate Haifa

Some 100 members of Bnei Akiva youth movement took part in its annual gathering held in Haifa on Monday where they signed a deal with the local municipality pledging to help rejuvenate the city.
Minister of Science and Technology Daniel Hershkowitz of Habayit Hayehudi addressed the delegates from 23 countries around the world and spoke to them about the importance of rehabilitating the port city, which has entered a period of a relative decline over the past few decades.
"Given the changes in Haifa like its aging residents and the change in nature of several neighborhoods, the necessity at the moment is establishing torah seeds and places of work in the city," he said. "I'm happy that Bnei Akiva has decided to pledge itself to the issue and place it at the top of its priorities."
