Bodyguard Efrati expresses remorse at appeal hearing

Erez Efrati, the former body guard of then-chief of General Staff Gabi Ashkenazi who was sentenced to eight years in prison for attempting to sexually assault a 22-year-old woman, expressed remorse at his actions during appeal proceedings at the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
"I take responsibility for the damage and the pain I caused the victim. I've started therapy in order to understand how I got to this situation," Army Radio quoted Efrati as saying.
Judge Edmund Levy responded that while he was pleased Efrati was trying to learn from his mistakes, he was not so certain the victim, whose life was ruined, could fix things so easily.
