A Border Police recruit was expelled because he failed to provide a definite answer to a question about whether he would refuse orders to evacuate settlements, Israel Radio reported Monday morning. The recruit, a resident of the settlement of Susiya, was asked during a routine briefing whether he would refuse evacuation orders. After responding that he would need to think about the issue because of its complexity, since it involves his own home, his friends and the values he grew up learning, his superiors told him he had "no place in the Border Police" and sent him to the IDF to be placed in a different unit. Israel Radio reported that following a query from the station, the Border Police planned to summon the expelled recruit for a second briefing.
