Britain: UK has granted asylum to 1,500 Syrian refugees

Britain has in the last year accepted some 1,500 Syrians seeking asylum after leaving their embattled country, AFP cited UK Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg as announcing Tuesday.
"We have accepted about 1,500 asylum seekers," he said, despite the British government's policy of allotting aid to the more than 2.35 million refugees from Syria's civil war rather than proposing an extensive resettlement plan.
