British Airways suffered severe website hack

CEO of British Airways Alex Cruz confirmed that a "sophisticated criminal attack" on the airline website and mobile app was discovered on Wednesday, Reuters reported Friday morning.

The breach affected customers who made online bookings in recent weeks. All customers were contacted and notified by the following night, verified Cruz. The airline stated that the clients who lost out financially will receive compensation.

"We will get through this," the CEO continued. "The company has a very strong platform."
