B'Tselem calls soldier manslaughter indictment 'important'

Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem called the IDF's intention to charge a soldier with manslaughter for killing a Palestinian woman during Operation Cast Lead an "important development" in a Tuesday press release.
The statement added that there are dozens of other cases of unlawful behavior during the operation which the military must complete promptly.
The organization also called for the appointment of an investigative committee, independent of the military, that would check the involvement of policy makers and the high command in civilian deaths and extended damage done to the Gaza Strip during Operation Cast Lead.
