Bulgarian minister to arrive to promote Israeli tourism

Bulgaria's Tourism Minister Delyan Dobrev is scheduled to visit Israel Tuesday to meet with leaders of the country's tourism industry and ensure that the attack two weeks ago in Burgas does not keep Israeli tourists from visiting his country.
Five Israelis and a Bulgarian bus driver were killed in the attack. Dobrev's two-day visit comes following a trip there last week by Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov.  Dobrev is also Bulgaria's minister of economy and energy.
In a sign of close cooperation between the two countries following the attack, representatives of the Bulgarian and Israeli governments will meet in Jerusalem in September, and Bulgarian President Rozen Plevneliev is scheduled to make an official visit to Israel in October.
According to Bulgarian figures, some 139,000 Israelis visited Bulgaria in 2011, and the first half of 2012 saw an 11% increase.
