Burt Bacharach to debut in Israel at age 84

One of the pop era's greatest songwriters will be making a belated debut  performance in Israel this summer. At age 84, Burt Bacharach, who together with his lyricist Hal David, has written a veritable greatest hits of timeless American pop classics, will appear on July 2 at the Zappa Shoni Amphitheater in Binyamina.
Among the pianist's compositions are "Walk on By," "I Say A Little Prayer," "I'll Never Fall in Love Again," "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head", all immortalized by singers like Dionne Warwick, Jackie Deshannon and BJ Thomas.
Bacharach is revered among subsequent generations of songwriters, with Elvis Costello, Rufus Wainwright and Adele all having collaborated with him in recent years. His autobiography "Anyone Who Had a Heart" is slated to be published later this year.
